Welcome to Car Hire Cheshire. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and vehicle rental offerings. By accessing our services, you agree to these terms.
Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that will be provided at the time of booking confirmation or upon collection of the vehicle. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Cheshire, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle category. A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Additionally, valid payment details and a security deposit must be provided, along with any further requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Cheshire location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and a security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required. Any pre-existing damage must be reported immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection, as refueling fees will apply if the level is lower. Late returns may incur extra charges, so please notify us promptly if you expect to return the vehicle late. You are responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges that arise during your rental period, in addition to an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals include a basic third-party insurance policy. Full details regarding coverage and excess amounts are outlined in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to minimize your financial liability, and we suggest reviewing these options thoroughly. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless additional insurance is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms is your responsibility, regardless of existing insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice given. For specific information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities, including racing or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials and sub-letting to unauthorized individuals is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Do not exceed passenger or weight limits, and ensure you remain within the agreed geographical boundaries unless authorized.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data, resulting from your use of our services. Our overall liability for any claims will be capped at the total amount you paid for your rental in the past year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in these regions.
Revisions to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on our website. Ongoing use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
